LAGOON PARK
-Aquatic Center

The Lagoon Park is a place for exercise, relaxation and entertainment. By acknowledging the history of Blackwattle Bay, the project is reintroducing the water to the site which provides a refreshing place for the dense urban area. By introducing different water bodies within the environments, the project turns into a wetland, a big lagoon and a standard swimming pool which provide different water experiences. The sequence of the environment transition helps people to shake off the stress of dense urban life and then enjoy the intimacy of water.

The centre of the oasis is the outdoor swimming pool which represents the lagoon experience. Three main structures surround the pool to give the pool the experience of the lagoon which is the feeling of being embraced by the land. The indoor pool is located on the south side of the site which could be an extended exercise place for the apartment building. The restaurant and bar are located at the southwest corner which gives access both inside and outside of the oasis. The service rooms and storage are located at the southeast corner of the site which gives space for the loading zone but avoids busy streets and pool users.
